The final 7 bands were polished and pumped, raring to go at the State Final of the National Campus Band Competition. With record numbers trudging through the doors and a killer line up, the night was set to be triumphant.

The Brown Study Band played an epic set; the New History of Atlantis awoke any sleepers, and Heartworm and Designer Everything got the crowd jumping and singing along fervently.

The anticipation was building and a certain waft of poultry overcame the air. The chants for chicken became louder until the iconic riff started and the crowd erupted. The whole 20 minute set conquered the punters as well as the judges, as was evident in the long awaited announcement of the winner.

Finally the moment came.

Streamers and smiles abound, The Brown Study Bands’ support was loud and proud. The victorious energy of the band members’ achievement was palpable and tangible. This year The Brown Study Band were the well deserved winners of the WA NCBC.
